La Marca Prosecco review: Which food pairs well with it?
La Marca Prosecco is a light, refreshing and bubbly Prosecco.
Bubbles cleanse the palate and as such sparkling wines are very versatile wines that can pair with many dishes and can be used throughout a meal.
Classic appetizers are Parma ham, tofu, salads, salty olives, and bruschetta to name some.
Meat wise go for pork, chicken, and spicy curry dishes for example.
For fish, we recommend shrimp, grilled, and fried fish.
If you are a cheese lover you should try it with semi-soft and hard cheeses Baby Swiss and Parmigiano to name some.
La Marca Prosecco review: What's its alcohol content?
La Marca Prosecco wine’s alcohol content is 11%.
In case you wonder about alcohol content or more precisely Alcohol By Volume, i.e. ABV, measure the alcoholic strength of a drink.
There is a direct relationship between the sugar left in the wine after the alcoholic fermentation has taken place, i.e. Residual Sugar or RS, and ABV.
During alcoholic fermentation, the yeast transforms the sugar in the grape juice into alcohol.
Grapes with high residual sugar will therefore produce dry wine with a high ABV.
How many calories are in a glass of La Marca Prosecco wine?
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture a 5-ounce glass will contain about 120 to 130 calories.
Alcohol contains 7 calories per gram. So a wine with high ABV will have a higher calories per glass than a wine with low ABV.
Furthermore, sugar contributes to the calorie count.
A dry wine will usually have 4 calories per grams vs a sweet wine that will have around 20 calories per grams of carbs, which include sugar.
Since this is an off-dry wine it will have a bit more than 4 calories per grams.
What is La Marca?
Here is an extract from the La Marca brand website:
“A sophisticated vision that is in tune with the passing of time, a clear sense of the “here-and-now” in which the past is ever present, and tomorrow has already dawned.
It is within this flow that La Marca touches upon the moment, weaving a canvas that shapes time.
Every encounter becomes desire, and every relationship is unique.
It is a question of sublime alchemy, that makes you feel at ease, and reminds you of forgotten impressions.
La Marca is a unifying voice, yet it calls on you to distinguish yourself, to show yourself for who you are.
It is a story of the love of a territory, a muse with a singular charm, alive and eloquent, that celebrates the most beautiful moments of life with elegance, ease, and the joy of the senses.“
This is a crisp, refreshing, and light Prosecco that for around ~$20 offers good value for your money.
Peach, apple, citrus, and a slightly sweet finish will complement many dishes from veggie, pasta, white and red meats, and our beloved cheeses.
Try La Marca Prosecco with Parma ham, salad, chicken sandwich, fish and chips, or Parmigiano cheese and it’ll be a delight. At least it was for me!
